The Renewal Workshop

It’s not just used clothing that can end up in the landfill. Imperfect new clothing can, too. A broken zipper, an incorrectly-sewn hem, and snag in the fabric–any and/or all of these can render a new garment unable to be sold. Even the most minor imperfection can be cause to send a piece of clothing to the discard pile. More often than not, these imperfect pieces are sent to the landfill.

The Renewal Workshop has partnered with “the world’s best-loved apparel brands” to take those imperfect pieces and repair them instead of discarding them. In their own words,

Our mission is to create a circular economy for the apparel industry. We partner with the world’s best-loved brands and retailers to refurbish their returned and excess apparel through a proprietary process at our own facility – the first of its kind in America. This process creates Renewed Apparel that is made in the USA at the highest standard to ensure customers get quality renewed garments from their favorite brands at a great price. We offer our brand partners and customers the smartest solution for optimizing the value of our resources and creating a more sustainable supply chain. We are small team with a lot of experience and passion. We are doing something that no one has ever done before.

Our factory in Cascade Locks, Oregon is redefining waste in the apparel industry. This leading-edge facility produces renewed apparel and creates jobs right here in America. A jacket with a broken zipper isn’t waste. We fix it and get it back out to where it was meant to be – keeping you warm as you explore the world.

Renewed Apparel is an ingenious idea. It’s one of those things each of us may think, “Now why didn’t I think of that?” We are excited to see the result of their hard work.
